Anderson County Texas – Introduction
In 2016, we stopped to tour the current Anderson County Courthouse, because we wanted to take an opportunity to see it inside and out. It was thoroughly enjoyable to look around, also, we hope you enjoy our pictures of another beautiful Texas courthouse! This page is dedicated to the courthouses, as well as, other attractions within Anderson County, Texas. Over the years, there were 4 total courthouses and as we locate records of each individual courthouse, we will update this page. We look forward to going back to This area to tour more of the sites in the county.
Anderson County and its Courthouses
Anderson County is named for Republic of Texas Vice-President Kenneth L. Anderson. The county has had a total of four courthouses built, over the years. The first courthouse was in 1847. Second courthouse in 1856, the third in 1886, finally, the fourth being the current courthouse built in 1914.
