Introduction to Aransas County Texas
Aransas County Texas was formed in 1871 and Organized in 1872. It is named for a spanish outpost in early Texas called “Rio Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu” and its county seat is Rockport.
Rockport is a bustling little vacation and sea town in the summertime, with plenty to keep occupied. Surf, Sun, Sand, a state park or three. Plenty of fishing and wildlife all around.

The current Aransas County Courthouse is within a building that was formerly used as a grocery store. The County courthouse was destroyed by Hurricane and a new one will be built, soon.
