Introduction to Nueces County
Nueces County Texas was created in 1846. It is named for the Nueces River that flows through the county. The county seat is the city of Corpus Christi.

There have been three total county courthouses in Nueces County. They were 1853, 1914 and 1977. The 1853 courthouse was added onto in about 1875. The 1914 Courthouse was added on to in 1930s and the 1960s.

The current Nueces County Courthouse is the third used since the county was formed. We haven’t been inside, yet. One of our trips down there, we will go inside, stay tuned …..
