 Wilson County – Introduction

Wilson County Texas is named named after James Charles Wilson who was an early settler of the county as well as a state legislator. He was born in Yorkshire, England in 1818 and moved into to the Republic of Texas in 1836. The original county seat, in 1860, was the town of Southerland Springs. After the Civil War the county seat was moved to Floresville.
